Here is a selection of what some of my clients have to say about my guitar lessonsMark Burnett
Tv Producer'Jes has been working with my kids for 5 ½ years teaching them guitar. He has especially worked a lot with my son James and has proven to me to be a very competent teacher which he has shown in many regards.
Through his weekly lessons James has shown great results which especially came through in my sons recent audition for ‘Berklee College of Music’ in Boston, where he was accepted as one of the top ranked players though being several years younger than the other students.
He has also worked much as a Band Coach for my sons band who quickly became a solid group. Their very first show was a competition show which they won outright over all the other bands participating.
I consider Jes a great asset to me and he is always professional, on time, easy to deal with and delivers more than required.
He is also very well educated and has an extensive background in music.
I can highly recommend him to anyone looking for Guitar Lessons, Band Coaching or any other musical situation.'

Philanthropist'I highly recommend Jes as a teacher to anyone interested as he has shown to be highly competent, reliable, talented and an overall great instructor. Sean has shown great ability on the guitar and keeps improving with Jes' guidance.
Sean has also taken many Band Workshops throughout the years which has helped him develop immensely as a guitarist. The Band Workshops have consisted of pro players that Jes has hired and has always been conducted with the utmost professionalism and great results.
Jes is very organized and will go to great lengths to deliver the very best which is why we choose him as our Teacher.
I will personally recommend him should you be interested in his services.'

Model'Jes is hands down the most amazing teacher my son has had. He took my 12 year old son from the the fundamentals of learning to play guitar and reading music to having his first live band performance at Dreamland Malibu in just over a year. For my son he made learning super fun.
What was amazing was Jes’s ability to adapt the songs my son wanted to play from a beginner’s level up to an experienced level which was great in keeping him engaged, encouraged and excited. As a parent I appreciated Jes’s energy and how professional, organized and knowledgable he was.
While coaching the band, he encouraged all of them to work together as a team, to compliment each other, to have patience and also to have fun in the process. He basically went above and beyond to help them reach their goal of performing at Dreamland. It was a day they will all remember-a core memory for sure.
I have such gratitude for you Jes!! I could go on and on.. But Thank you! Can’t wait for the next one!'

'Under Jes's coaching for nearly two years, my guitar journey has undergone a remarkable transformation. Starting as a novice with just a handful of chords, Jes has propelled me to new heights, significantly advancing my skills.
What sets Jes apart is his ability to make learning fun and engaging, tailored to my preferences by focusing on my favorite genre (r&b). Not only does he ensure I can play songs, but he also challenges me with nuanced techniques, constantly pushing me to improve.
Jes's encouragement, patience, and adaptability create an enjoyable learning environment where progress feels natural. Thanks to him, my dexterity, ability to read music, solo, and decipher songs has seen remarkable growth.
I'll continue this enriching journey with Jes for the long haul, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking to elevate their guitar skills.'

'I am persistently pursuing a career in music as a guitar player and I want to be one of the best guitarists available. That is why for 8 years and going Jes has remained my private teacher and as the musical director of many band workshops. Jes always provides the best players and setting for all of his workshops, and expects the best from himself and those playing with him. Jes puts a lot of thought into targeting specific aspects of my playing and focuses on improving them in all the workshops.
His organization and reliability has made all of the workshops fun and productive. I have never felt like i was wasting any money on the workshops and continue to utilize them as much as possible. Furthermore, Jes Selane offers an excellent service to anyone trying to better themselves as a musician and all the aspects that go along with the business. I consider him a close family friend and a mentor and highly recommend his service to anyone who loves music.
Thanks Jes!!!'

'As the parent of three kids ranging up to 23 years old and having played music myself since childhood, I’ve tried lots of music teachers. Jes is the best I’ve experienced!
He gets you or your child right into the guitar and playing music that you like and want to learn right away, while also teaching the fundamentals in a tactile, fluid way that doesn’t even feel like a guitar lesson. You’re enjoying it and playing music from day one. Of course, the more practice you put in between lessons, the more you get out of it.
But Jes will have you up and playing in days. And the best part is, he loves his job and makes it really fun. His energy is contagious and it’s genuine. He’s also a respectful and thoughtful person and you will want to welcome him into your home. I honestly can’t recommend him enough if you want to learn to play guitar with ease, skill and enjoyment.'

'I have always wanted to play guitar but also felt like it was too late in life to start until a friend mentioned Jes and that I had to try.
My son and I have now been taking lessons from Jes for the past year and she was right, it is never too late to learn and he is as good as it gets in terms of teaching.
Jes is incredible with both kids and adults as he has an great sense of humor, amazing patience, and a unique way of motivating you and making learning fun.
I highly recommend Jes to anyone who is interested in learning guitar and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.'

'I've been playing guitar for a number of years and over time I've had several guitar teachers that I became frustrated with and quit.
Oh, they would start teaching me too much theory or not teach me what I wanted to learn. They just weren't a good fit. Eventually, I gave up on finding a teacher. For years I had put learning lead guitar out of my mind. Until recently I saw an ad for Jes Selane and guitar lessons.
What it said gave me the impression that here was a guy I could learn from. That impression has turned out to be correct. Jes is a very personable guy that seems very intent on sharing his knowledge with me to make me a much better guitar player. He seems to balance his lessons between what I want to learn and what I need to learn.
In just the short time he's been giving me lessons I'm improvising leads far better than I would have thought I could. There is no doubt in my mind that if I apply myself and practice that in a fairly short time Jes will have me playing guitar like a virtuoso and that people who will hear me might ask 'did you go down to the crossroads and make a deal?'
And I will reply, no, but I did study with Jes Selane!'
